Things I’ve Seen In Mexico:

• the falafel spot right next to the sex shop fetish fantasy gold

• a short man on a tall unicycle juggling several blue bowling pins in the middle of traffic

• purple petals on concrete sidewalks

• a woman sitting under a streetlight with her kids who look to be about 3 under 3, selling flowers

• a gaggle of awkward teens at the park, gathered together for a yo-yo contest

• a market block selling frida kahlo bumper stickers and skull figurines

• a muscular woman in a white wife beater and black leather skirt and flip flops, crossing the street

• punk kids with spiked green hair and indigenous aesthetics, selling popsicles 

• a woman in a purple shirt and cat eared helmet on the back of a motorcycle, license plate starts with “333”

• drunk, shirtless man on the corner of a busy intersection in centro, belly button protruding

• two policias cruising down the highway to the airport on their motos

• an albino dog sniffing sand on the main road

• a man on the beach in capris walking in the sand, dipping the stingray he caught into ocean water

• a little green bird on a man’s shoulder at the beach

• a dancing waitress twisting her sandals into the sand floors at the peruvian food restaurant

• a procession of police cars and military tanks trudging slowly down the boardwalk, rifles in hand

• green tea water so hot it jumps, in a tiny wooden cup
